Adam Levine & Cee Lo Confirmed as Upcoming 'Voice' Judges
Maroon 5's Adam Levine & Cee-Lo Now Confirmed as Judges for NBC's The Voice
Not long ago, they were reported to be "in talks," but now it's official -- Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green have joined the judging panel for NBC's new reality singing competition, The Voice. The show. produced by reality king Mark Burnett, will premiere Tuesday, April 26th.
In The Voice, four famous musician coaches -- two have yet to be announced -- will each choose singers to mentor, and each will bring in an all-star team of songwriters, producers and the like to help them turn the contestants into stars. America will then decide who will be named "The Voice" and win the grand prize of 100 thousand bucks and a recording contract.
In a statement, Adam said, "I was absolutely thrilled to be invited by Mark Burnett to join The Voice as a coach. I look forward to working with these singers and helping them push forward throughout the competition to make their musical dreams become a reality." Cee-Lo said, "It's an honor for me to be able to help mold a malleable and new talent in such a fashion as The Voice. Being a coach...is a substantial responsibility and I take it with sincerity and distinction."
As a result of Adam's new job, Maroon 5 has been forced to postpone their scheduled dates in Europe and Russia, which were set to begin on March 4th. In a statement, Adam said, "We would like to apologize to our fans. We are extremely disappointed that we’re not able to stay overseas and perform at this time. The guys and I hope to make it back over there later this year. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.”
