Maroon 5 have announced that they are to hold a songwriting session with their fans.

The 'This Love' band are to create a song over the course of 24 hours with the help of fans, who will be able to use a website to make suggestions about the song's lyrics and overall style.

The ideas and thoughts the fans opine online will be beamed directly to the studio-based band, who will be able to see their suggestions via a 'movement-based projection system'.

The session is in association with Coca-Cola.

"We are excited to be working with Maroon 5. They have worked closely with us to help shape the event and ensure the session will be a fun and engaging experience for fans no matter where in the world they are," says Joe Belliotti, Director of Global Entertainment Marketing for Coca-Cola.

"This is the most ambitious and experimental effort in music Coca-Cola has ever undertaken."

The session is due to take place on March 22.
