Adam Levine-he of Maroon 5The Voice, "Moves Like Jagger" and "Stereo Hearts" fame- loves karaoke. He is not a kloseted karaoker. In fact, he's out and proud and stands 100 percent behind Soulo, an iPad karaoke app that can help karaoke fanatics and aspiring singers hone their skills. When you can sing falsetto like Levine, it's no wonder you're a fan of karaoke.

The Soulo App and microphone provides iPad users with a personalized, sophisticated yet easy-to-use, home karaoke experience. There's a real-time pitch-enhancement key, 10 free tracks, with the ability to purchase more via iTunes, voice effects such as echo and reverb and the ability so share videos via social networking platforms. Those are some features, right?

The Soulo App is available for free from the App Store on iPad orhere. Additional two-song packs are available for 99 cents through In-App Purchase.

Levine spoke about the app and why he loves it like a fat kid loves cake, to quote 50 Cent.

What is your level of involvement with this karaoke app?

I thought it was a great idea. I support the idea of karaoke and to do it that way, with an innovative app? Yes. Getting people singing is important, to help perpetuate people singing.

It's not like they are in a bar with people watching them at first. People can do it anywhere.

You can practice in the comfort of your own home. It turns the iPad into a karaoke machine.

Why did you get behind this particular app?

You can do a lot of things. There is a real diversity: You can record things, create things. It is much more creative than the other ones out there. It is a lot easier to work, and not as confusing as others on the market. You just take the vocal out and put yours in. There is a lot more to it and there a lot more options. It's really for the discerning karaoke enthusiast. I endorse things that I think are cool, based on what I like and what I can get behind.

What are Adam Levine's favorite songs to karaoke?

Al Green "Stay Together." I also like "Welcome to the Jungle" to get things going and to bring the house down. Run-D.M.C., too!

Which Run-DMC song? "My Adidas?"

I'd go with "It's Tricky." It's always a good time.

Any suggestions on karaoking "Moves Like Jagger" or "This Love?" I imagine that has to be hard, since your voice is so high!

I would say do your vocal warm ups before. It is high, it is up there. But you can do it.

Let's talk a bit about The Voice. You were already a rock star, but your role on the show helped to catapult you to the bigger national stage, on the celeb side of things.

I did it because it was a cool thing. Other things that came as a result of choosing to do the show are a surprise. I don't expect to experience [fame] on a higher level. I am pretty happy with the way it is, even if it is a little weird to experience new level of fame I was not expecting. But it's fine and I am adjusting to it. My life is not that different because of it. It has been this way consistently for me for a while.

Is there any way to tie in this karaoke app to The Voice? They sort of go hand in hand.

It is definitely a good way to finely tune your chops. I use an app on my phone to record ideas for melodies for songs. I support things like this app, since it helps you engage your creative side.

Did you ever think you'd go on a reality TV show?

I haven't watched them in the past, since I am not a big TV person. It sounds funny I am on a TV show. I don't watch TV really. And I not trying to be cool and just saying it!

Maybe some singer will use this app and become a viral video star through it?

It could launch some other celebrity for fun. I just want people to go and do it, and I want them to feel amazing after they do it, so that they keep doing it. Karaoke singing leads to car singing and now in the digital age, to YouTube.
