Adam Levine Turns 33 Years Old, Celebrating 1 Year Of Success
Adam Levine turns 33 years old today, March 18th, 2012. Born in Los Angeles, California and attending the performing arts schools and centers he went from being the lead singer of indie rock band Kara's Flowers in the 90's to being the frontman in one of the most successful chart-topping Grammy Award winning band's of the moment, Maroon 5. He had a huge year in 2011 landing a spot on the hit NBC television singing competition show The Voice as a judge/coach alongside with other successful artist Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera. Not only did he attend the show... but he had won the first season in June 2011 with contestant Javier Colon. Throughout the success of his TV spot he promoted his spot on the show by releasing a song that would soon make music history called entitled "Moves Like Jagger" featuring pop-star Christina Aguilera. The would later become a number-one hit single spending four weeks atop the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 2011 beating out the likes of Adele, Rihanna, and LMFAO. "Moves Like Jagger" went on to chart in the top 10 best-selling singles of all time (announced Billboard.com via Billboard Magazine in October 2011). As a group, him, along with his band-mates of Maroon 5 picked up an award at the 2011 American Music Awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group. They also picked up two more awards in early 2012 at the 38th Annual People's Choice Awards for Favorite Band and Gaon Chart K-pop Award for Favorite Song of the Year.
Not too mention all the events and awards won in 2011, but Maroon 5 was also the first ever group to write and record a single song in a 24-hour period. That's right! On the dates of March 21-22 the group recorded a track titled "Is Anybody Out There" featuring attended tour member P.J. Morton. It was streamed live on Coca Cola's music site. Adam Levine was also big on being a solo artist in 2011. He featured on one of last year's biggest platinum hits "Stereo Hearts" by rap group Gym Class Heroes. The song ended up being the fourth biggest selling single of 2011.
We want to say Happy birthday to you Adam Levine and thanks for creating some of today's greatest music and being a role model to every single one of us fans. You inspire us! Keep up the good work.
