Maroon 5 Reaches New Peak On Hot With 'Payphone'

It may seem like the pop-y, diverse hitmaking record that is "Payphone" came out just yesterday, but it has already been four sales weeks since the song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The single branches new peaks and new success this week! How? Starting off on the Hot 100 chart the single moves up a rather large notch from 3-2, meeting it's new peak, just falling behind the number-one song "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye and Kimbra. "Payphone" replaced the all-mighty, previous chart topping hit, "We Are Young", by fun. featuring Janelle Monae, as "Young" moves back to No. 3.

Over on the Billboard Top Pop Songs chart, the Overexposed lead single moves into the top ten going from 13-10. If the song keeps it up, it may look at the top five or six next week. Heading on over to the Billboard Radio Songs chart the single moves from 11-10, meeting a new peak. On the Digital Songs chart the track stays at it's pulsing peak of No. 2, and just falling behind the No. 1 placeholder "Somebody" by Gotye. And last but not least over on the Billboard On-Demand Songs chart, the pop-rap record peaks at No. 2 moving from No. 4, and guess who it's just falling behind? Yep. Gotye and Kimbra. Hats off to the alternative takeover though.

Now let's take a look at other charts we haven't covered yet. Over on the Ringtone's Chart, "Payphone" currently holds at No. 18. And over on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, we all know nothing really moves there weekly, but the band's former 2011 hit "Moves Like Jagger" holds at No. 19. But on the Adult Pop Songs chart "Payphone" charts at No. 7 plunging in from No. 9.

And congrats to the band's first studio album Songs About Jane, which potentially came out in 2003, for re-entering on the Billboard Catalog Albums Chart at No. 18!
