Psy, the Korean rapper who brought the "Gangnam Style" to life this week, is the new Rebecca Black. The new Justin Bieber. The new big act in town. But not this week! The three time Grammy Award-winning group Maroon 5 is taking over the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for a second week this sales week with their Overexposed hit single "One More Night." However, the sales forecast for next week looks like the song may fall a spot favoring to PSY's new single "Style."
On other chart notes, the band's Wiz Khalifa featured single "Payphone" takes a hit this week on the charts as the weeks go by. The "Payphone" hit falls from 15-20 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Night" makes a reign atop the chart. The single also descends 26-32 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart, moves up a spot 3-2 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, cracks a few spots from 12-15 on the Canadian Hot 100 singles chart, and falls 11-14 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart. The single's music video also topped the iTunes Store Music Video chart this past week.
"One More Night" makes it's reign atop the Hot 100 singles chart this week, but how's it hangin' on the other charts? Let's see. The reggae pop infused hit jumps 5-2 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart, tops the On-Demand Chart moving up 4-1 on the tally, moves up from number 5-2 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart, climbs up a spot from 29-28 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, debuts at No. 54 on the Billboard Japanese Hot 100 singles chart, stays at No. 2 on the Canadian Hot 100, jumps 9-5 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, and jumps into the top ten on the YouTube Charts moving up 12-8 on the tally.
The band's fourth CD, Overexposed, takes a hit falling 5-14 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week. On other chart notes, the pop album fell 12-15 on the Canadian Albums chart, and descended 9-14 on the Digital Albums chart.
