Earlier this year, Maroon 5 tied a world record with The Backstreet Boys for having the highest debut on the Billboard Pop Songs chart with "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, charting at No. 18. Right now, the band debuts this week with their new single "Daylight" on the chart... entering at No. 38. After last weeks debut on the Adult Pop Songs chart, at No. 37, this week it jumps seven spot to No. 30 on the tally.
Also, it was announced late yesterday evening (Wed, Dec. 5) that the music video for the song will premiere on Dec. 10th on E! Mark your calendars!
Maroon 5's new single "Daylight" also makes a huge debut on the South Korea Singles chart this week debuting at No. 5. That's the band's second highest-debut on that chart since "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, debuted at No. 4 in July, 2011. On other chart notes, the single debuted at No. 95 on the Canadian Hot 100 singles chart (unannounced it hasn't debuted on our Hot 100 chart yet), and stays hold at No. 37 on the Australian (ARIA) Chart.
The band's 9 week chart topper "One More Night" falls 3-4 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, spending it's third week off the summit, allowing Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" to move up 4-2 on the tally, also surpassing Ke$ha's "Die Young." Rihanna still tops the Hot 100 with "Diamonds" this week. On other chart notes, the reggae-pop fused tune descends a spot from 2-3 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart, falls off the top spot on the Radio Songs chart to No. 3, falls 4-8 on the On-Demand Songs chart, falls 6-7 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 singles chart, moves up 24-21 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, and keep hold at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart.
The band was just nominated for two Grammy Awards on last night's Grammy Nominations Concert event! See what for here: http://t.co/aWjvME6r
