Music Mondays: The Cab Releases New 'Endlessly' Single

Hey guys! We are doing a new weekly blog every Monday called 'Music Mondays. Other bands and artists on Twitter and other social networks are becoming more fluent in the subject, helping promote up and coming or undiscovered talents who's music is more relevant to their sound and what might their fans like.

Remember our featured group a few Mondays back, Imagine Dragon? Well, we are taking a detour back to the suburbs of Las Vegas, Nevada to find quintet alternative rock group The Cab. The band has been through over eight different band members since their appearance in 2006, with members Alex DeLeon, Alex Marshall, Joey Thunder, Bryan Dawson, and Ian Crawford. They first came out with their debut studio album Whisper War on April 29, 2008. They sampled several different music verities and types of genre's from punk to pop and indie to folk. They first worked with producer Patrick Stump for the album, who is known as the front man for punk rock band Fall Out Boy, who were defunct in 2010. The Cab's debut set debuted at #108 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

After touring the world, the band took a break to starting writing and recording a second album. The three existing members at  the time traveled to New York City, New York to finish recording their second album. On April 23, 2011 they released Symphony Soldier, their second studio set. They released the single "Bad" on July 11, 2011 which became the band's biggest selling single thus far, selling over 60,000 copies. They then began touring in support of the new album in the fall of 2011 with bands All Time Low, Simple Plan, and Avril Lavgine. A year later, they released the single "La La" in April, 2012. They toured with bands such as The Summer Set, He Is We, and Paradise Fears on the '2012 Everything's Fine Symphony Soldier Tour.'

The band is currently in the studio working on a planned third studio album. It is set to be released in early 2013. Meanwhile the band will be touring with Grammy-Award winning band Maroon 5 and The Voice season 1 winner Javier Colon on the 'Overexposed Worldwide Tour' in Brazil, Mexico City, and South America. The Voice Season Three Promo Featuring "Lucky Strike"

The Voice Samples New Maroon 5 Song 'Lucky Strike' in Ad!

The Voice is slowly but surely making it's approach to it's season three premiere on Monday, September 10th on NBC. This week, they released several different promotional ads and commercials to get the fans revved up for the coming season. All returning coaches Adam Levine, frontman of Maroon 5, Cee Lo Green of Goody Mob, Blake Shelton, and poptress Christina Aguilera will be battling it out for a third time to see who can get their contestant to the end!

Check out the new promo featuring Maroon 5's "Lucky Strike" below:

Adam Levine Talks About Wiz Khalifa Collabo

At first, the addition of Wiz Khalifa to Maroon 5's "Payphone" seemed a little bizarre, and yet it works. The song has been standing strong on the charts for weeks, currently sitting at No. 7 on the Hot 100 and No. 6 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart. "We wanted some other element that took it in a different direction," Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine tells Billboard, "and it just made sense to go with Wiz." The band was already a fan of the 24-year-old rapper, so getting him on the record was "a huge score," added Levine. "We all agreed the song needed to have a bit. . . it was a little clean, it needed to have a bit of dirt on it." With lyrics like "Switched the number to my phone / So you could never call it" and "Go and take that little piece of sh*t with you," Khalifa's verse added the grit that the otherwise "poppy pop song" lacked, said Levine.

Maroon 5, Mariah Carey Tie For Most Weeks Spent in Top 5, 'One More Night' Rocks Hot 100

Maroon 5's No. 2-peaking "Payphone," featuring Wiz Khalifa, descends 5-7 in its 18th week on the Hot 100 and its first below the top five. Its sum of 17 weeks lodged in the top five from its debut equals the Hot 100 record; Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" spent its first 17 weeks in the bracket in 1995-96, including its first 16 at No. 1 (the longest command in the Hot 100's archives) and the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" likewise logged 17 weeks in the top five from its start in 2009, including 14 at No. 1.

But, wait, there's more Maroon 5 news: "Payphone" follow-up "One More Night" darts 15-9 with the Hot 100's top Digital and Streaming Gainer badges, rising 7-4 on Digital Songs (170,000, up 26%) and 45-28 on On-Demand Songs (345,000, up 33%), as well as 43-25 on Radio Songs (40 million, up 29%). After notching its first two Hot 100 top 10s ("This Love" and "She Will Be Loved") in 2004 and adding its third ("Makes Me Wonder") in 2007, Maroon 5 has doubled its top 10 total with its last three radio-promoted singles. Prior to "Payphone" and "Night," the group's "Moves Like Jagger," featuring Christina Aguilera, reigned for four weeks in September/October 2011.

In between Maroon 5's two concurrent Hot 100 top 10s, Justin Bieber posts the chart's other arrival into the upper tier, as "As Long as You Love Me," featuring Big Sean, climbs 12-8 to become Bieber's fourth top 10 (and Big Sean's second). The cut zooms 8-6 on Digital Songs (145,000, up 12%), 33-18 on Radio Songs (46 million, up 20%) and 10-9 on On-Demand Songs (554,000, up 12%). Bieber first reached the Hot 100's top 10 with "Baby" (No. 5) in 2010 and returned to the region with "Never Say Never," featuring Jaden Smith (No. 8), last year and his previous radio single, "Boyfriend," which reached No. 2 in April.

Adam Levine Talks About 'Gay Marriage', His Outlook on His Brother's Homosexuality

Adam Levine.

Maroon 5 frontman talks about his opinion and thoughts on the world's gay perception.

In a recent interview with PrideSource.com, the opened-minded Voice judge explained a thing or two about his stance on legalizing gay marriage — something he says has little to do with have a gay brother, Michael:

"I would feel the same way regardless. I happen to have a gay brother, but that doesn't mean I'm more of an advocate for equal human rights. It's just so silly and it doesn't make any sense to me that you wouldn't be able to marry whomever you want to marry. It's not our business. I don't know why we're obsessed with making everything in this country our business, all the time. We just need to make it legal and stop caring so much. It doesn't matter. And it shouldn't matter. It's just not anyone's business except the people involved."

Adam adds that people' justifications for being against gay marriage just "doesn't check out." He says:

"Whenever I hear people's reasoning behind it, I think to myself: First of all, marriage isn't always successful anyway. Look at the divorce rate and all the things that go wrong with marriage. Whether it's gay or straight, there are issues with it. Clearly people have a hard time staying together, and that's just a sad truth about marriage in our society. People should be allowed to succeed and fail at marriage as they so desire."

The Voice Press Conference Photos, New Twist Added to Third Season

The Voice set up a press conference earlier this week on Sunday (August 12) to discuss the third season. Coaches Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton made an appearance as well as media hostess Christina Milian and producer Mark Burnett.

Several photos were shot at the press event and you can view them on our Facebook page right now! Click here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.334242863336884.76488.302132356547935&type=1

And now for the twist... "We all just wondered, what is it that we can do during the battles to keep the competitive element going," Burnett said. Pit the judges against each other some more!

The first two seasons saw two contestants facing off in front of their coach during the battle rounds, with the losing singer going home. This season, the rival coaches will be able to steal contestants that have been sent home.  If more than one coach hits their red buzzer, the contestant--similar to the bling audition rounds--decides which coach he or she wants to switch to. Each coach can save two contestants, leaving them with 10 singers instead of 8.

How will the new twist for the new season look like on our television screens this coming fall on NBC? Tune in September 10th at 8/7pm CPT to watch the premier of season three of The Voice

Music Mondays: Grouplove Gets 'Tongue Tied'

Hey guys! We are doing a new weekly blog every Monday called 'Music Mondays. Other bands and artists on Twitter and other social networks are becoming more fluent in the subject, helping promote up and coming or undiscovered talents who's music is more relevant to their sound and what might their fans like.

We are moving on from Las Vegas native indie rock group Imagine Dragons and moving out to the suburbs of Las Angeles, California. Alternative rock band GROUPLOVE is compiled of five members who were all just strangers wanting to create rock music. In 2011, they released their debut album Never Trust A Happy Song and it peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. With it's success, the band peaked atop the Billboard Alternative Songs chart with the song "Tongue Tied", which would soon become a summer smash hit. The song peaked at No. 42 on the Hot 100 singles chart and No. 10 in Canada. The song was featured in an ad for Apple's new iPod Touch commercial in September 2011, gaining their fans. The group's newest single "Itchin' for a Photograph" is currently slowly climbing the charts.

Maroon 5 Ties One Republic for Most Weeks in Top Three on Hot 100

Maroon 5's single "Payphone", featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, has seemingly tied up for the single with the most weeks spent in the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The song never peaked atop the chart, at No. 1, as it dipped from Nos. 3-5 this week on the tally. The tune spent fifteen weeks in the top three bouncing between positions 2 and 3.

If "Payphone" does not receive a call back to the top three, it will have equaled the top three runs of these non-No. 1s: LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live," Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" and Timbaland featuring OneRepublic's "Apologize." All four songs peaked at No. 2.
It could have been worse -- at least "Payphone" reached No. 2. There are those hits that stall out at No. 3 for weeks upon weeks, but never go higher. Take Real McCoy's 1994 hit "Another Night," for example. The song spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 3, but never went any higher. In turn, it secured the record as the song with the most weeks stuck at No. 3 in the Hot 100's history.

'Payphone' Still Takes Over Radio Songs Chart, 'One More Night' Seeks Success on Hot 100

Maroon 5 is having one of their most successful weeks in Billboard history this week since last year's success with their 2011 smash hit single "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles' chart for four weeks non-consecutively, knocking off Adele's "Someone Like You" and Rihanna's "We Found Love", featuring Calvin Harris, which both ended up with a successful number-one turnout, respectively. This week on the Hot 100 chart, the band's new single "One More Night" makes a huge jump from 54-30! That's the tenth biggest jump on the tally this week! The band's Overexposed lead single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, falls slightly two notches from 3-5 after Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" and Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" bridge the top three.

Over on the Digital Songs chart, "One More Night" seeks more success with it's leap moving up from 48-16! "Payphone" on the other hand falls a close 9-11, falling out of the top ten. On the Billboard Pop Songs chart, "One More Night" makes a move sliding up from 28-20 on the chart, and "Payphone" moves up a notch from 4-3, beating out Rihanna's "Where Have You Been", featuring Calvin Harris (which also features in "We Found Love", as noted earlier).

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, the band's fourth album, Overexposed moves up a notch from 10-9 on the tally while their 2010 third album Hands All Over, descends 125-126.

Maroon 5 Falls 2-3 on Hot 100 with 'Payphone', 'One More Night' Charts Big

Alright guys, it's been fifteen weeks since Maroon5's single "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and it's still standing flawless in the top ten. On this week's Hot 100 tally, however, Katy Perry boots in with her single "Wide Awake", causing Maroon 5 to fall back a spot to No. 3 on the chart. This is the first week at No. 3, for "Payphone", since the sales week of June 30. The band's new album, Overexposed, has shown some success over the past five weeks it's been charting the Billboard 200. This week, the album is a non-mover at No. 10 on the tally.

The band's new single "One More Night" is slowly climbing the charts with it's return to the top fifty Digital Songs chart re-entering at No. 48. The song moves up a rapid 82-54 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, slides up the Pop Songs chart to No. 28, and debuted at No. 73 on the Radio Songs chart. The song's music video is currently charted at No. 6 on MTV First's music video weekly chart. Great job guys!

Maroon 5's third album, Hands All Over, released in 2010, charts this week on the Billboard 200 albums chart at No. 122. It spent last week falling 101-122. The album also stays put on the Catalog Albums chart at No. 17 (check out the full Catalog Albums chart here). And, just to throw it in, the group's 2011 hit single "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, moves up 25-24 on the Myspace Chart, moves up 21-14 on the Yahoo! Music Chart, and stays at No. 40 on the Bing Top 50 Video chart.
