Maroon 5 Boasts Over 17 Million in Record Sales

Maroon 5 have sold 17 million copies of their albums, singles, and work worldwide in the past decade

The Los Angeles breed group Maroon 5 have hit surpassed their 17 million mark earlier this week, according to Neilson SoundScan and Billboard Biz. The pop rock band's latest hit single "Daylight" scored the rocker's just about a million of those 17 copies sold worldwide.

Maroon 5 have made history this week as well over seas on the U.K. charts as their 2011 four week No. 1 hit single "Moves Like Jagger", featuring Christina Aguilera, follows Adele's "Someone Like You" in the highest digitally downloaded single in the United Kingdom. "Someone Like You" has sold, thus far, 1.46 million copies while Maroon 5's "Jagger" has so far sold 1.40 million copies. Third, fourth, and fifth place belong to Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (with 1.38 million copies sold), the Black Eyed Peas' single "I Got a Feelin'" (with 1.379 million copies), and Rihanna's "We Found Love", featuring Calvin Harris (selling 1.27 copies), respectively.

Maroon 5 have scored thirteen top 100 singles in the United States since 2002 and 7 top 10's in the United Kingdom.
