Maroon 5 Continues Reign Atop Adult Pop Songs Chart

Maroon 5 spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart

Last week, we saw pop rockers Maroon 5 top the Adult Pop Songs chart for a third week in a row with their new hit single "Daylight" as this week they continue to up-the-ante spending another consecutive week at No. 1 on the AC chart. "Daylight" has made Maroon 5 their first Top 40 Pop No. 1 single and Top 40 Adult Contemporary No. 1 single of the year. While this week, "Daylight" fell a numerous 1-3 on the Pop Songs chart (after a 3 week long reign).

This week, the band's soft rock hit "Daylight" falls a spot from Nos. 12-13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The single has so far peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100 several weeks ago before Baauer's breakout "Harlem Shake" single and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' breakthrough hit single "Thrift Shop" cause a ripple in the chart's new data plan (by including streaming data). On other chart notes, this week "Daylight" stays put at No. 14 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart, jumps 20-19 on the Digital Songs chart, descends 1-3 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart (passed by Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man" and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop"), slides up 14-13 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, making it Maroon 5's second song in the top 15 on the chart including "One More Night", and stays put atop the Adult Pop Songs chart.

Maroon 5's  former  9  week  No. 1  single  "One  More Night"  continues  it's  descending  down  the  Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. This week "Night" falls a single spot from Nos. 48-49. Last time we saw Maroon 5 fall off the top 50, "Moves Like Jagger" fell from No. 49 to completely off the top 100 spots the next week. On other chart notes, "Night" falls 29-32 on the Radio Songs chart, and descends 9-10 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart (while "Daylight" moved up).

On the Rock Songs chart, "She Will Be Loved" found itself getting a boost back up the chart leaping from Nos. 40-35 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.

This week, the band's 2012 No. 2 peaking album Overexposed stayed put at No. 24 on the albums chart. The album is not seen in the top fifteen positions on the Digital Albums chart this week, however it has been floating in the top 10 on the iTunes Store Pop Albums chart for the past week (due to it's lowered price).
