The Maroon 5 frontman announced yesterday (September 4) that he’s launching a menswear line for Kmart this fall, according to the Associated Press (via Billboard).
“Honestly, I think fashion has a lot to do with when you wake up that day; a reflection of where you are, who you are and what you’re going to do,” Levine said in a press conference previewing the line. “I’m not making a pretentious fashion statement, but you have to put something on, and I’m not wearing a fig leaf.”
Levine’s 222 collection will include jeans, henley tee shirts, plaid button-downs, baseball caps and a camouflage cargo jacket with prices ranging from $14.99 to $69.99.
While Levine’s line will be available in 500 Kmart stores starting October 1, fans can get an early jump on single pieces from the collection on Kmart’s Shop Your Way website. Throughout the month, the site is offering flash sales on certain items, along with videos of Levine talking about the making of his fashion line. From the looks of the first clip, he’s really into stitching.
Levine is the latest celebrity to collaborate with Kmart, who have launched fashion lines with Nicki Minaj and Selena Gomez.
Though this is Levine’s first foray into menswear, it’s not his first in the fashion world. Back in June, he released his men’s and women’s fragrance simply called Adam Levine.
Along with designing, Levine is gearing up to reunite with the original cast of judges–Blake Shelton, along with returning judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green–on The Voice, premiering September 23 on NBC.
