Yesterday (Tues, April 8), it was confirmed on the official Maroon 5 Twitter account that the band is in the process of making their highly anticipated fifth studio effort, dubbed by fans as 'albuM5.' The band tweeted out yesterday stating that the fifth album is "in the works" and that "more details are coming soon." This is the first official notice the band has given fans about their progress on their Overexposed follow-up.
Last month, bassist Mickey Madden hinted that the pop rock quintet will embark on a worldwide trek in the fall or early winter of this year. "We're probably going to be back on tour before the end of the year I would imagine it looks like in the fall," said Mickey Madden in an interview with media press at this year's Rodeo Houston event. "But nothing's set in stone."
In an interview with Chelsea Handler in March, singer Adam Levine confirmed that he is in Los Angeles with Maroon 5 recording the new record. "Uh, yeah, I'm making one right now I'm actually going from here to the studio to continue the process of making it."
The band also have announced a string of concert appearances in the coming month including their planned headlining performance at this year's Wango Tango event sponsored by 102.7 KIIS-FM in L.A. and their show at the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia on the Fourth of July. Tickets are available for both events, so purchase them here.
Also, the nominees for the 2014 Billboard Music Awards were announced today (Wed, April 9) on Billboard and Maroon 5 is not nominated for this year's event. However, you can vote for them for the 1st annual iHeart Radio Awards now.
