Maroon 5 ties record with TLC and finds themselves one spot closer to topping the Hot 100

Maroon 5 has made a monumental tie-breaking record with R&B singing group TLC this week on the Billboard Charts. How so? The band's latest single, "Maps", leaps in to the Radio Songs chart's top-ten at from Nos. 12-9 making it Maroon 5's ninth top ten on the tally tied with TLC for the most top-tens in Nielson SoundScan history. On other news, Maroon 5 is slowly making it's way up the Hot 100 chart, climbing a spot from 9-8 on the tally this week.

Do you think "Maps" could top the Hot 100 chart this summer? Currently withholding the top spot is reggae-pop band MAGIC!'s newest No. 1 single "Rude", which just dethroned Australian rap-pop star Iggy Azalea's from the top spot with her single "Fancy", featuring Charli XCX.

On other chart news, "Maps" jumps up 27-21 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, moves up 11-8 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, ascends from 10-6 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, slides up 9-7 on the Digital Songs chart (after falling 7-9 last week), takes a hit on the Japan Hot 100 dropping from 19-35, climbs up 11-9 on the Pop Songs chart, and jumps up 12-9 on the Radio Songs chart.

The band's fourth studio album, Overexposed also sees a return on the Billboard 200 albums chart re-entering at No. 190 on the tally. The album was released over 2 years ago on June 26 through A&M Records, their final release on the label before signing with Interscope to release their highly anticipated fifth album, V, set to drop on September 2, in which will feature "Maps."

Billboard exclusively premiered the first part of Maroon 5's album cover for V earlier today (Thurs, Jul 17) and it's having fans and critics alike scramble wanting more. Check out the first part of the album art below!
