With all this hype about Maroon 5's next album, V dropping on September 2, and with the excitement of their new single "It Was Always You" coming out on July 29, "Maps" is definitely holding its own on the Billboard charts. This week, "Maps" finds itself moving up one more spot on the Billboard Hot 100 climbing up from 8-7 on the tally. If "Maps" were to score another single this year with "Maps", it would go in the books as Maroon 5's fourth chart-topper in the United States. The band's previous studio album, Overexposed's lead single "Payphone" peaked at a strong No. 2 on the Hot 100, but never topped the tally (thanks to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe").
On other chart notes, Maroon 5's single "Maps" jumps up 21-19 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, slides up 8-6 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, stays put at No. 6 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart, climbs up 7-6 on the Digital Songs chart, sticks at No. 9 on the On-Demand Songs chart, ascends from 9-8 on the Pop Songs chart, stays at No. 9 on the Radio Songs chart, and falls 13-15 on the Streaming Songs chart (YouTube, Spotify, Google Play, ect.)
On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Maroon 5's 2012 album, Overexposed finds itself staying at No. 190 on the tally after last week's re-entry at the spot.
The band premiered the music video its Ryan Tedder-produced "Maps" single a few weeks ago, on July 2 through Vevo and YouTube and recently achieved over 10 million views in the last few days.
In other news, Maroon 5 recently announced that their promotional single "It Was Always You" will drop on July 29 through iTunes along with available pre-orders being set up for V.
