Maroon 5 finds its way in to the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week with their latest hit single "Maps." The leading single from their fifth album, V scores the band their ninth top 10 single on the chart and their first top-ten single since "Love Somebody" exited the chart last June (over a year ago). Maroon 5's last studio album, Overexposed produced 4 top-ten platinum selling singles including the longest running No. 1 single of 2012, "One More Night" and the highest-grossing digital song of 2012, "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa. In comparison to "Payphone" (Overexposed's lead single), the phon-y single debuted at a major No. 2 on the Hot 100, already scoring the band a top-ten hit. "Maps" took, in turn, 3 weeks to climb to the Hot 100's top-ten. "Maps" jumps from No. 13 to 9 this week on the tally.
Also, on the Canadian Hot 100 singles chart, "Maps" makes a top-ten effort as well leaping from 15-10 on the chart. In other chart news, "Maps" makes a debut splash onto the Adult Contemporary Songs chart No. 27, slides up 12-11 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, falls a spot from 8-9 on the Digital Songs chart, leaps from 17-11 on the Pop Songs chart, jumps from 17-12 on the Radio Songs chart, and dives in from 32-12 on the Streaming Songs chart (thanks from the help of their "Maps" music video premiere on July 1 & 2).
The Ryan Tedder-produced track also sits at No. 10 on the Trending Top 140 chart this hour. Upon it's debut into the world on June 16, the song topped the 140 chart thanks to a campaign Maroon 5 launched the day of the single's release.
The band is set to release their album, V on September 2 through Interscope Records!
