Maroon 5 turned The Forum into a stir-crazy venue performing "Maps" at the VMA's

Maroon 5 channeled back to their earlier years of performing free concerts in parking lots tailgating Sheryl Crow and John Mayer by performing "Maps" outside of The Forum last night (Sun, Aug. 24) at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Last night, Maroon 5 made their star-studded debut performance on the MTV VMA's with their performance of "Maps" and untelevised performance of "One More Night." The band was not nominated for a VMA this year. In the past, the Los Angeles rock group won their first VMA for Best New Artist for the video "This Love" in 2004. "This Love" was also up for Best Group Video, however didn't take home the second moon man. In 2007, the band was nominated for Best Music Group for "Makes Me Wonder", however lost that moonman as well. In 2012, Maroon 5 was nominated for their action-packed music video for "Payphone", featuring Wiz Khalifa, and lost to boy band One Direction's video for "What Makes You Beautiful."

Next year, the band is expected to be nominated for a few Video Music Awards, especially the award for Video Of the Year for "Maps." Have you seen the video? It's amazing.
