Maroon 5 Breaks Record For Most No. 1's on Adult Top 40

Maroon 5 re-enters the top 10 on Hot 100 and makes history on Adult Pop Chart

I will start off this article with the first bit of great news. Maroon 5 has made history on the Billboard charts this week by scoring their ninth No. 1 hit single on the Adult Pop Songs chart with their hit "Maps", which also leaps back into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. "Maps" grooved back up from 11-9 on the Hot 100 this week after falling of it's top 10 reign two weeks ago (it has thus far peaked at No. 6 and topped the Canadian Hot 100). The second bit of good news is that the band's 5th album, V debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

On other chart notes, Maroon 5's hit single "Maps" stays put at No. 12 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, slides up 2-1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, falls 3-5 on the Canadian Hot 100, descends on the Dance Mix/Show Airplay chart from 15-16, falls 9-43 on the Digital Songs chart (everyone's buying V as a whole instead!), jumps up 82-16 on the Japan Hot 100, leaps up from 17-9 on the On-Demand Songs chart, slides up 3-2 on the Pop Songs chart, stays at No. 5 on the Radio Songs chart, and jumps up 25-17 on the Streaming Songs chart.

Maroon 5's single "Animals" finds itself doing well on the charts this week, falling a spot from 54-55 on the Billboard Hot 100, sliding up 62-45 on the Canadian Hot 100, ascending 23-15 on the Digital Songs chart, leaping from 39-14 on the On-Demand Songs chart, and debuting at No. 41 on the Streaming Songs chart.

Maroon 5's promotional single, "It Was Always You", from the V album, also finds success on the Billboard charts this week. "IWAY" jumps up 95-83 (originally peaking at No. 45) on the Hot 100, re-enters at No. 91 (formerly peaking at No. 19) on the Canadian Hot 100, re-entering at No. 49 on the Digital Songs chart, and debuting at No. 31 on the On-Demand Songs chart.

Maroon 5's "Unkiss Me" cut from V also sees a debut on the Canadian Hot 100 songs chart this week, entering at No. 56, scoring the band 4 top 100 hits in Canada this week.

The pop rock band's newest album, V, debuted this week atop the U.S. Billboard 200 making it Maroon 5's first No. 1 since 2007's It Won't Be Soon Before Long took the summit. V sold 149,000 copies within the last week in retail. Maroon 5 also has 2 other albums charting on the top 200 this week; Songs About Jane slides up from last week's position of 137 to this week's 79 and Overexposed re-enters at No. 139.
