Maroon 5 Continues Reign Atop Adult Pop Chart

Maroon 5's V stands strong in Canada and "Maps" dominates Adult Pop 40

Maroon 5 made their prodigious debut atop the Billboard 200 album chart last week with their fifth studio effort, V, selling 164,000 units in it's first week and it incredibly still stands strong this week falling a spot from 1-2 on the tally. Also, the Los Angeles rockers' hit single "Maps" continues it's reign atop the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart, after making a record-breaking effort atop the chart last week becoming act with the most Adult Top 40 number-one singles (with 9).


In other chart news, Maroon 5's hit "Maps" inches up 9-8 on the Billboard Hot 100, stays put at No. 12 on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, spends a second week at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart, stays at No. 5 on the Canadian Hot 100, falls 10-12 on the Billboard Top Twitter Tracks chart, slides up 16-13 on the Dance Mix/Show Airplay Songs chart, jumps up 43-9 on the Digital Songs chart, descends 9-11 on the On-Demand Songs chart, falls a spot 2-3 on the Pop Songs chart, stays at No. 5 on the Radio Songs chart, falls a spot from 17-18 on the Streaming Songs chart, and falls 2-8 on the Official U.K. Singles chart.

Maroon 5's second V singles "It Was Always You" leaps up 95-83 on the Billboard Hot 100, re-enters at No. 91 on the Canadian Hot 100, slides up 55-49 on the Digital Songs chart, and falls down 31-35 on the On-Demand Songs chart.

"Animals", the third cut from Maroon 5's new album V, falls a spot 55-56 on the Billboard Hot 100, leaps up 62-45 on the Canadian Hot 100, descends 32-50 on the Top Twitter Tracks chart, re-enters at No. 36 on the Digital Songs chart, slides up 14-12 on the On-Demand Songs chart, and jumps up 41-35 on the Streaming Songs chart.

Maroon 5's No. 1 fifth studio album, V, may not of lasted more than a week atop the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart form last week's big debut, falling 1-2, however, it stays a second week atop the Canadian Albums chart at No. 1. On other chart notes, V debuts at No. 4 on the U.K. Albums chart and fell a spot 1-2 on the U.S. Digital Albums chart. On the Billboard 200, Maroon 5's 2002 debut album falls 79-99 and their 2012 album, Overexposed, falls 139-187.
