Maroon 5 Score 10th Top 10 Hot 100 Single With 'Animals'
|Maroon 5 in 2012.|
Maroon 5 has officially scored their 10th top 10 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, with their song "Animals", from the new album V, launching 33-8 on the chart. "Animals" serves as the second single from the band's new fifth studio album V - released on September 1 - to chart in the top 10 on the Hot 100, following-up "Maps" which peaked at No. 6 on the tally last month, and has since fallen out of the top 10.
About 2 weeks ago, the band premiered their steamy music video - directed by Samuel Bayer - for the "Animals" single, which has caused controversy - to say the least - over the last week or so. Since it's premiere date on September 29, the video has reached over 19 million views on Vevo and YouTube altogether. Maroon 5 also performed the single on Saturday Night Live on October 4, making it their debut television performance of the single since it's released in August, which helped launch the song into the top 10 this week.

NOTE: I have decided that I will not be posting weekly chart updates every Thursday from this point onward anymore. It's a rather lengthy process that takes about an hour to create; sifting through the charts, dealing with errors, and recording the information down one chart at a time. But, conveniently, Billboard's website makes it easy for you - the fans - to see where Maroon 5 are sitting on the charts every week.
Even though I will not be posting weekly chart updates anymore, I will be making articles (such as this) when Maroon 5 encounter a major chart achievement.
Thanks to those who've actually read all the Thursday chart updates I made over the last 2 years! For chart info on Maroon 5, click here!
