'Sugar' Meets New Peak On Hot 100, Highest Charting Single From 'V'

Maroon 5's "Sugar" is the highest peaking hit from V charting at #2

On this week's Billboard charts (Thurs, March 19), Maroon 5 have met a brand new peak position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their third single from the platinum-selling album, V, with "Sugar." "Sugar" moves up a notch this week from 3 to 2, becoming the highest peaking single from the band's latest album yet. V's lead single "Maps" only peaked at No. 6 while it's successor "Animals" charted at No. 3. This theme is common in Maroon 5 albums in the recent years. With the band's 2012 album Overexposed, it's second and fourth singles were most prominently the most successful from the album ("One More Night" peaking at No. 1 for 9 weeks and "Love Somebody" selling over 2 million singles in the U.S.).

Maroon 5's single "Sugar" has thus far sold just over a million units in the United States to date, according to Neilson Co. However,  is hasn't been streamed on Spotify as many times as it's previous hit "Animals." ("Maps" has been streamed 186 million times on Spotify, "Animals" 170 million, and "Sugar" 103 million).

This is also Maroon 5's highest peaking single since their 2012 hit "One More Night" topped the chart in October of that year.
