Maroon 5 lost the Favorite Duo/Group award to the biggest boy band

Tonight was the 43rd annual American Music Awards (Sunday, Nov. 22) and the full list of winners have been revealed.

Maroon 5 were nominated for both Artist of the Year and Favorite Duo/Group Pop/Rock, however lost the Favorite Duo/Group award to One Direction, who also beat out Walk the Moon. Maroon 5 were previously up for Artist of the Year until the final 5 nominees were revealed earlier this week.

But there's no need to be too upset. Maroon 5 is nominated at the 42nd annual People's Choice Awards next year for Favorite Group. The band is up against Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, Imagine Dragons, and One Direction. The People's Choice Awards will air live on January 6, 2016 on CBS.

  1. Maroon 5 is my favourite band of all time but I have to say Imagine Dragons ride now the top and are far beyond musically. It's like I had to vote for "It won't be soon before long" Maroon 5 versus the "V" ones. Easy win.
I hope they'll make a more soulful record and see if they catch me again.

  2. According to both James Valentine and Adam Levine, the band want to make a more "traditional" and "artistic" type of record next. James thought they had stretched the electronic sounds as far as they could for now. Fingers crossed that they follow up on this promise.
