Maroon 5 Set 'Feelings' As Next Single

Maroon 5 performing in 2014.

Maroon 5's "Feelings" will be released to contemporary radio on August 4th

Maroon 5 thought this summer was gonna hurt like a mother... but I guess it didn't hurt enough.

After "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherf***er" had a commercially unsuccessful run throughout the charts and received lower-than-average radio spins in the United States, Maroon 5 and Interscope Records have announced that "Feelings" will serve as the band's forthcoming radio single, following "This Summer's Gonna Hurt."

"Feelings" will impact contemporary radio stations starting at 3am EST/PST on Tuesday, August 4th. A music video has yet to be confirmed to be filmed or in the works, however we can expect a video later this year.

"Feelings" is a dance-driven post-disco pop song produced by Shellback and OzGo and will serve as the fifth single from Maroon 5's latest studio effort V (2014). It's predecessors "Maps", "Animals", and "Sugar" have all impacted the top 5 on the U.S. Mainstream Singles charts peaking at numbers 2, 1, and 1, respectively. "This Summer's Gonna Hurt" has thus far peaked at number 10 on the tally and at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Maroon 5 Nominated for Best Pop Video at VMA's

Maroon 5 at the 2014 VMA's red carpet event.
Maroon 5's "Sugar" is nominated for Best Pop Video for the MTV VMA's

Earlier today (Tuesday, Jul 21), MTV Networks revealed the full list of nominees and categories for the 32nd annual MTV Video Music Awards. Country-gone-pop superstar Taylor Swift and rapper Kendrick Lamar lead with the most nominations (with 9 and 13, respectively).

Pop rock band Maroon 5 has been nominated for Best Pop Video for their outstanding music video for "Sugar", the third installment from their platinum-selling fifth studio album, V, which dropped last September and was recently re-issued in May, with the inclusion of "This Summer's Gonna Hurt Like a Motherf***er."

Maroon 5 has been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award 4 times in their career. They were first nominated twice at the 2004 MTV VMA's for Best Group Video and Best New Artist, winning the latter. In 2007, the band was up for Best Group Video for their number 1 hit "Makes Me Wonder", however did not take home the moon-man. They were up for Best Pop Video again in 2012 for their video for "Payphone", featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa, however did not win that either. 2015 sees Maroon 5's first nomination since 2012, being "Sugar" up for Best Pop Video. At last year's MTV Video Music Awards, Maroon 5 rocked their single "Maps" on the outdoor stage live.

Catch the 2015 MTV VMA's live on Sun, August 30th at 9/8c only on MTV!

Top 20 Best Maroon 5 Songs Of All Time (Updated)

Maroon 5 in 2012.
Maroon 5's top 20 best songs of all time are counted down for you

If you were asked to describe explain in detail the diversity and uniqueness that is Maroon 5's catalog, it would be quite an exceedingly, distinctful list. Taking in to account all five of the group's commercially success studio efforts, describing each album would be rather tricky: Songs About Jane (2002) being a funky-R&B-inspired pop record, It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007) being a slick and solid 80's-influenced pop rock effort, Hands All Over (2010) delivering a unique funk-metal-esque sound, and Overexposed (2012) and V (2014) displaying the band's turnover in to the straight up synthpop realm. Since their introduction into the mainstream commercial world, they have covered all bases of pop and rock music dabbling a little in funk, dance, electronica, disco, reggae, ska, grunge, metal, and even country across all of their albums. Each record is more diverse than it's predecessor, whether it's carrying on from a funk-a-fied sound to a shimmering pop-glistened vibe or crossing the bridge between Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye to Prince, The Police and Sting, the Grammy Award winning L.A. band has proven that they have no boundaries.

With this countdown, I am taking into account other critics' and journalists' top Maroon 5 songs lists, reviewing Rolling Stone reviews of each of the band's albums, hearing out my followers in my interactions on Twitter asking them what song should be number one, and taking into consideration of Maroon 5's most commercially productive hits. No need to worry, this countdown won't be too glazed with "Moves Like Jagger"'s and "Payphone"'s. However, some of the band's biggest and best-selling international hits have been their best taking to account "Daylight" and "She Will Be Loved." This countdown will not feature any material from the band's b-side releases, live albums, EP's, nor will include cover songs, Adam's solo material, or any songs featuring Adam Levine or the members of Maroon 5; only tracks strictly taken from the band's five commercial album releases.

So without further a adieu, here are the top 20 Maroon 5 songs of all time.

20. "My Heart Is Open" feat. Gwen Stefani, from the album V (2014)

19. "Never Gonna Leave This Bed", from the album Hands All Over (2010)

12. "Shiver", from the album Songs About Jane (2002)

11. "How", from the album Hands All Over (2010)

10. "This Love", from the album Songs About Jane (2002)
