Zak Waters is a musician, and one hell of a talented one, who I have been an avid fan of for almost three years now. And up until last year, he has been touring the nation as a solo act writing and producing infectious dance-pop hits. With his early releases such as The New Normal and Lip Service, he has proved that he is one of the most intriguing men in underground pop music today, clearly taking influence from 80s post-disco and 90's soul and R&B music.
Not too long back, accompanied with the release of his EP album, Now // Later, he showed off his eclectic sexy side and published one of the most persuasive covers of Ginuwine's 1996 single "Pony" the Internet has ever seen. Waters has also never failed to prove his live vocal ability by touring with other artists such as Betty Who over the past few years.
Taken from his biography, "Oozing with confidence, sex appeal, and a Jackson Five's worth of charismatic vocal ability, this flourishing young multi-talented singer and musician has perfected the pop formula with a new record of undeniably infectious dance hits. Blending the futuristic funk of Jamiroquai, the pulsing electro-beat of Daft Punk, and the classic groove of Earth, Wind, and Fire, Waters’ music instantly appeals to anyone with eardrums and a pulse."
Last year, Waters launched a new musical project entitled Pretty Sister, and now the project has released a brand new single entitled "Drive", an outrageously catchy pop tune that will remind you of the good old late 90's G-funk era. And "Drive" is just the start of a new beginning for Zak Waters and his crew as a new album and tour is on the way later this year.
