In an exclusive The Voice behind the scenes interview with coach Adam Levine, the Maroon 5 frontman gave some exciting insight on the group's future as a band.
Although an album is not in the works, according to Levine, Maroon 5 is working on new material. After being asked by an Entertainment Tonight reporter about the band's future status, Levine responded with the following statement:
"Not an album right now, but maybe a song. We got to keep the kids interested. We have something going on right now. Soon, it's coming. It's on the way. It's in the incubator."
After being asked of his opinion on the new Beyonce release, Levine also spoke about his personal approach on songwriting as a musician:
"I am a fan of heavily shrouded metaphor, so I don't like to do that. I used to like to do that a long time ago, but I like to keep it to myself and let people interpret it for what you want. I think it's more fun that way because then I can kinda exist behind it and it's like, a little more mysterious. I really respect actually seeing people living through their art, it is a really inspiring thing. It's real art because you're like, 'OK, this is exactly what this person's going through, this is exactly what this person is feeling.' I'm more afraid to do that now, which I don't think is a bad thing, because you can still be artistic that way. But it's definitely enviable and really cool."
Adam Levine also revealed that he does not no, nor does he feel like revealing, what his future plans are for The Voice. He is scheduled to have his first newborn child, a girl, this September with wife Behati Prinsloo. Although fans are excited and cheerful for the news, it's becoming worrisome that Maroon 5 may fall back on hiatus or break up following this year's massive North American fall tour.
