Maroon 5 postpone Guatemala City concert until March of next year
Maroon 5 have officially disclosed that they will be postponing their planned concert at Explanada Cardales Cayala in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The show was scheduled to take place on September 21.
Due to circumstances out of our control, we will have to reschedule our Sept 21st show in Guatemala City until March 3rd. We’re very sorry.— Maroon 5 (@maroon5) September 20, 2017
Guatemala City, we love you and we are so sorry, but we promise to make it up to you!— Adam Levine (@adamlevine) September 20, 2017
The band has postponed the date to Saturday, March 3. Maroon 5 had previously cancelled their headlining concert in Punta Cana at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on September 9 due to Hurricane Irma.
It is highly speculated that the reasoning behind Maroon 5's postponing of the Guatemala City concert is due to the current political climate in the region, violent protesting, and unpredictable circumstances that plan on being carried out during their visit.
This automatically puts an official end to Maroon 5's world tour with their final concert taking place in Lima, Peru on Tuesday (Sep. 19th). The band plan on releasing their sixth studio album later this year and announcing a tour beginning mid-to-late 2018 in support of the release.
