Maroon 5's 'What Lovers Do' is certified platinum in the U.S.

After Red Pill Blues reached gold status last month, Maroon 5's hit "What Lovers Do" surpasses 1 million downloads

Maroon 5 is on a hot streak as of lately. The band's highly anticipated sixth studio LP, Red Pill Blues, released last month, was certified gold (selling 500,000 units) in the United States and now one of the band's latest singles achieved platinum status.

The group's top-ten single "What Lovers Do", featuring American R&B singer SZA, has just surpassed 1,000,000 copies sold digitally, becoming certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song's music video, directed by Joseph Kahn–which premiered in late September–has reached over 121 million views. "What Lovers Do" is also one of the most-streamed singles of the year, having been streamed 317 million times, and has peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, becoming Maroon 5's 13th top-ten in the country. 




Maroon 5 will embark on a world tour beginning in the U.S. next year with special guest Julia Michaels in support of Red Pill Blues. Tickets and tour dates are now available.
